Information on how to care for your Jaguar Luxury®  Remi Lace Wig

Application

If you have never applied a full lace wig, we strongly suggest that you use a professional hair stylist with experience in lace wig applications to install your lace wig.

Shampoo

One of the keys to preserving and maintaining the overall life and condition of your lace wig unit is through proper washing & conditioning.  In order to keep the hair clean,  we suggest that you wash the hair at least every other week with warm.  Proper and careful lace wig washing cannot be underestimated. Lace wig units are pretty fragile and delicate to begin with and they are at their most vulnerable state once wet and submerged in shampoo and water.

The basic rule of thumb: be patient and gentle while washing your lace wig.  Being tough, rough or overly agitating the unit (i.e., ladies, washing your lace front wig like a you wash your under garments) while washing can cause the hand tied hair knots to slip and/or loosen.  Using the wrong types of shampoos and conditioners can also lead to shedding (over the counter shampoos are usually the wrong pH level and can strip the hair) – be sure to use a professional salon quality shampoo and conditioner.  DO NOT COMB the hair of your full lace wig unit while wet. Use warm water and let air dry.  Be sure to wash and brush the hair in one direction.  Hot water and using heated dyers to dry your unit WILL damage your lace unit.  When washing your Lace Wig, do not pile the hair together, as this creates tangles. Instead gently shampoo the hair in one direction only, by holding the cap and hair tightly at the top to avoid any hair from slipping or shedding at the base. Gently stroke the hair while applying the shampoo. Follow with the conditioner in the same manner. Gently stroke the hair while applying the shampoo. Follow with the conditioner in the same manner.  If you are not comfortable washing your own lace wig unit, you should have it professionally cleaned.

When dirt and sweat accumulate, hair tangles. Too much leave-in conditioners and other hair care products will create a build up on the hair and will cause it to tangle faster.

Storage

Proper storage of a Jaguar Luxury® lace wig can be accomplished by use of a silk or satin bag or wig head purchased from http://store.jaguarluxuryremi.com or 215-382-1523.  A satin bag is recommended for long periods of storage of your Jaguar Luxury® lace wigs. For short-term storage, a wig head or mannequin is great between applications of your lace wig. It is also suggested to use a hairnet to protect the wig hair and hairstyle.

Combing/Brushing

When combing or brushing your lace wig, do not get the comb/brush too close to the fragile lace because you could tear the lace by combing or brushing too harshly.

Sealing your knots

Now that your lace wig is completely DRY, turn it inside out and place the wig on a wig mannequin. Spray the inside of the cap lightly standing 6 to 8 inches away with an acrylic sealer. It is important that you do not over-spray by simply following the directions on the back of the sealer that you purchase. DO NOT SPRAY SEALER ON THE HAIR. If the spray is visible on the hair, too much has been used. Let the wig dry for 15 to 30 minutes. Make sure the cap is completely dry before removing the lace wig. Removing the lace wig too soon may cause the cap to shrink

Other Important Tips:

1.   THE advantage of the Jaguar Luxury® Remi full lace wig is that you can style it like you normally would your own hair. You can brush, comb, blow dry, curl with curling iron, straighten with a flat iron and style it any way you want.

2.   For the curly/wavy textured hair, apply water or a professional salon level leave-in conditioner so that the hair is soft and moist. A good leave-in hair treatment can keep the hair from drying. Remember not to put too much otherwise there will be a build up and make the hair feel too heavy. If the hair feels too dry or heavy with too much hair care products, you should follow our Shampoo instructions.

3.   SLEEP in a satin bonnet or scarf.

4.   NEVER SLEEP ON WET HAIR. Make sure the hair is completely dry before going to bed.

5.   When swimming, do wear a swim cap to prevent prolong exposure to chlorine or salt water which causes the hair to tangle. Always wash the hair right away with shampoo and conditioner after swimming in both types of water. When going to the spa, the hair should be brushed out completely and should be wrapped in a cold wet towel.
